VINTAGE NEON CLOCK
The Roto-Dial Clock Company, located in Wichita, Kansas, produced a variety of neon
clocks from the 1940’s - 1950’s.
Unique in style and design, they featured aluminum bodies, and it is
thought that they acquired an aircraft plant after WWII and used the
aluminum in the plant to make the clock bodies.
This particular example
is called a "Sand Dial", as the clock has colored beads (sand) on the
inside of the glass that provides a frosted look.
It features an aluminum plate with diamonds cut-outs over a neon ring.
This clock was fully restored in the Summer of 2012.
